John Deere upgrades G-Series with two compact excavators

John Deere rolled out its 17G and 26G compact excavators, which boast Tier 4 diesel engines and were designed for the rental, commercial/residential building, landscaping, underground and site development industries.

Both excavators include 14.5 hp and 20 hp Tier 4 engines without the complexity of an after treatment system, says the company.

The 17G cab remains the same as the D-Series model, and the 26G includes the same operator’s station as the 35G, but with the hinge portion of the door redesigned to provide better visibility. The new cab also includes a larger door and front window, as well as foldable travel pedals and a new seat with adjustable wrist rests.

The 17G and 26G also feature a third service door and an oil-impregnated boom, arm and bucket bushings to help deliver durability.
