More than 80 volunteers representing the Green Industry rallied together Sept. 12 to maintain the areas around the National Mall in Washington, D.C., as part of John Deere Day of Service.
The event, hosted by the Trust for the National Mall, drew participants from John Deere, Finch Services, the Professional Landcare Network, Outdoor Power Equipment Institute, the National Hispanic Landscape Alliance and the Irrigation Association, among other industry peers.
Participants volunteered more 250 hours of landscaping services, improving the space north of the Lincoln Monument Reflecting Pool and refining the scale, shape and function of the landscape of the Constitution Gardens.
