According to the Washington Business Journal, Rolling Greens will retain its name, staff members and management team. In addition, it will continue providing services to existing clients.

Paul Levy, co-founder of Rolling Greens, said Universal Engeisha Group was a good fit for his company, says the Washington Business Journal. Founded in 1972 by Takumi Morisaka, Universal Engeisha Group is one of the largest horticultural concerns in Japan, boasting $31 million revenue in 2014.

“The Japanese have an ancestral relationship with horticulture,” said Levy. “Bonzai, Ikebana, Japanese gardens and the cherry blossom trees that grace our city are just a few examples of the Eastern influence on horticulture in America. Undoubtedly, our future designs, installations and philosophies will bear the influence of Mr. Morisaka and his team of advisers.”

Headquartered in Osaka, Japan, Universal Engeisha Group has more than 200 employees with offices, nurseries, plant boutiques and flower shops in Tokyo, Osaka and Shanghai.
