The Irrigation Association (IA) and the California Agricultural Irrigation Association (CAIA) entered into a formal partnership, focused on promoting efficient irrigation throughout California, with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU).

“Strengthening our partnerships with state and local organizations was a focus of my tenure as president of the Irrigation Association,” said Warren Gorowitz, the IA’s immediate past president. “It’s only fitting that my last official act as president was to solidify our relationship with the CAIA, laying the groundwork for our organizations to align strategy and tactics to advance our industry for years to come.”

The MOU was signed by CAIA President Richard Arias of RDO Water and Gorowitz, CLIA, of Ewing Irrigation and Landscape Supply. Effective immediately after both organizations signed, the MOU highlights several areas of partnership, including advocacy, education, public affairs and workforce development.

“Keeping the California agricultural irrigation industry globally competitive is a key focus of the CAIA,” Arias said. “This formal partnership with the IA will open doors for both the CAIA and the IA as we not only advance our industry through advocacy and education but also identify and train our next generation of leaders.”

Valid for three years, with the option of renewal, the MOU can be found by here.
