Hunter Industries presented FloGuard, a feature for select Pro-Spray PRS models that reduces the flow of water as soon as a missing nozzle is detected.
It’s designed to save water and prevent landscape erosion, according to Hunter.
“FloGuard is a simple yet powerful tool that shields landscapes from the destructive consequences of missing nozzles,” said Kelsey Jacquard, product manager for MP Rotators and sprays.
When a missing nozzle is detected, FloGuard reduces the flow of water from the riser to 0.5 gallons per minute (gpm) and immediately generates a 10-foot tall indicator stream.
Water flow from a riser with missing a nozzle without FloGuard technology can range between 6 and 30 gpm, said Hunter.
During system flushing, the blue flush plug prevents the FloGuard feature from engaging.
The optional, factory-installed feature is available for the 4-inch, 6-inch and 12-inch Pro-Spray PRS models with a check valve. Options include potable and reclaimed water models.
