Louisiana-based Horizon Distributors, a full-service distributor of irrigation and landscape products, acquired Turf & Garden, a wholesale supplier of landscape products, irrigation, lighting and power equipment with four stores in southeastern Virginia and the Outer Banks, N.C. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“Turf & Garden has been a strong presence in the Virginia irrigation and landscape industry for over 100 years,” said David Cook, president of Horizon. “This acquisition offers us a tremendous opportunity to expand our footprint in the East. The Turf & Garden business model is a seamless complement to Horizon, and we are excited about the growth opportunity we can offer to their team.”
Turf & Garden’s line of products and services includes power equipment parts and service, as well as the Southern Belle line of grass seed and fertilizers, designed for the Virginia climate and soil.
Horizon serves the professional turf, landscape and golf markets, with brands including Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro, Irritrol, Exmark, Echo, Club Car, PBI-Gordon, Vista, Unique and FX Professional Lighting. It currently operates 69 sales centers in 10 states, including Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Colorado, Texas, Florida and Maryland. Horizon is a wholly owned subsidiary of POOLCORP.
