This year’s SynkedUP Contractor Summit brought together landscaping contractors from across North America for an experience in learning, networking and operational excellence. The Summit, held in North Carolina, showcased the latest innovations from SynkedUP including the newly redesigned Time Tracking app and delivered a lineup of speakers, site visits and conversations about what it takes to build a profitable contracting business.

Weston Zimmerman, CEO of SynkedUP, highlighted the critical role time tracking plays in a contractor’s business. He emphasized that accurate time tracking is not just a task for managers; it’s pivotal for budgeting correctly, improving future estimates, understanding true project costs and ensuring profitability.

“Time is money, literally,” Zimmerman said. “If you’re not tracking it accurately, you’re flying blind on your projects. This new app makes it easier for crews in the field to log their hours, giving owners the insights they need to make informed decisions.”

A highlight of the Summit was the Q&A featuring Jordan Daneker and Kyle Hatfield, co-owners of Evolve Design Build, an $8 million landscape construction firm. The duo shared deep insights into the mindset, challenges and strategic decisions shaping their business, offering attendees a glimpse into the thinking behind scaling and sustaining a high-performing company.

Attendees acknowledged the importance of these real-world discussions. Sherman and Carver, co-owners of Harmony Gardens in North Georgia, drove “eight and a half hours to the SynkedUP Contractor Summit to invest in ourselves and our company.” They reflected on the common struggles of entrepreneurship, admitting, “As owners, we often get dragged down in the trenches… you’re kind of drowning in the water.” The Summit was an opportunity for them to “gain wisdom and insight from like-minded folks who have similar challenges” and to experience the camaraderie that comes from connecting with peers.

Jamie Feie, owner of Supreme Scapes, shared similar sentiments: “As a business owner, attending the Contractor Summit has been invaluable. The networking at these events is incredible, and the keynote speakers always provide practical, actionable insights that I can implement in my business. The real value comes from taking what you learn and putting it into practice. Bring your notebook, take notes, and be ready to take action.”

Along with the insights and discussions, the Summit reinforced SynkedUP’s philosophy: built by people in boots, not in suits, the platform exists to help contractors price jobs profitably and run their businesses efficiently.

From tools like the Time Tracking app to lessons from industry leaders, the Contractor Summit continues to deliver tangible, actionable value for contractors looking to grow their businesses.
