Landscape professionals who attend GIE+EXPO 2011 will have the opportunity to upgrade their registration to include eight live hardscape installation demonstrations as well as a workshop on adding hardscape installation to their line of services. GIE+EXPO, which is sponsored by the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI), Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) and Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS), will be held Oct. 27-29 2011 at the Kentucky Exposition Center.

For a $25 upgrade fee, landscape professionals will be able to attend the eight live hardscape demonstrations, where they can learn how to:

  • Install segmental retaining walls
  • Install interlocking concrete pavers
  • Add low-voltage lighting to hardscape projects
  • Install permeable interlocking concrete pavement
  • Construct water features
  • Install steps, columns and seat walls
  • Build an outdoor room
  • Clean and seal concrete pavers

For a $50 upgrade fee, landscape professionals will have the opportunity to learn in a classroom setting about “Adding Hardscape Installation to Your Company’s Success.” The workshop, presented by Pat McCrindle, MLPS Paver Systems, Inc., will be offered both Thursday, October 27, and Friday, October 28. This upgrade also includes admission to the eight live Hardscape Demonstrations.

In addition, as part of the regular GIE+EXPO admission, lawn and landscape professionals can attend HNA’s Machine-Assisted Paver Installation Demonstrations to see the mechanized installation of interlocking concrete pavements.
