Landscape industry members accept ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

|

As the Ice Bucket Challenge sweeps social media this summer, members of the landscape industry are jumping on board with their own versions, often incorporating equipment from their operations.

The Ice Bucket Challenge dares participants to be filmed dumping a bucket of ice water over their heads and/or make a donation to support research for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as “Lou Gehrig’s disease.” It went viral on social media in mid-2014.

Here’s a round-up of some of our favorite Green Industry-related challenges. First up, we have to share video of our own Bill Roddy, publisher of Landscape Management, taking the challenge. He was nominated by industry supplier Holganix and he tapped a few other members of the landscape industry. Watch the video to see who he calls out!

The guys at Turfscape, based in Akron, Ohio, take the challenge with some heavy equipment.

Chad Diller from Tomlinson Bomberger Lawn Care, Landscape & Pest Control does the same.

Shayne Newman from Yard Apes calls out other members of the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET).
