Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association’s (FNGLA) annual convention will be held June 11-12, 2021 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the organization said in a statement.
Shawn Thomas, FNGLA president, said the organization worked with Embassy Suites hotel team in St. Augustine Beach and state and local officials to create a safe event.
The organization had pushed the event back to Aug. 14-15 from its original June 5-6 date.
“However, we became increasingly concerned over the new spike in Florida’s COVID-19 cases,” Thomas said. “And, we knew a level of unease would get in the way of the FNGLA convention’s time-honored traditions of camaraderie, fun and lasting memories. Thank you for sticking with us, waiting so patiently for this final decision.”
Thomas said any hotel reservations would automatically be canceled and the organization will automatically refund any 2020 convention registrations.
