PLAINFIELD, ILL.—Spring-Green Lawn Care has signed its latest franchise owner as part of the new Green Industry initiative. Kent Fisher will open his Spring-Green franchise in Greenwood, Ind.

Fisher started in the Green Industry with his design-build company in 1986. He expanded to landscape maintenance as his business grew, and more recently added lawn care services to his portfolio of services. Fisher’s agreement allowed him to convert the lawn care portion of his business to a Spring-Green Lawn Care franchise.

“That part of the business felt stagnant, and I was looking for an opportunity to learn how to operate it more effectively and increase revenue,” Fisher says. “Spring-Green provides a more systematic operation. The sales and support services the Spring-Green national support center offers will be extremely valuable in helping us provide a better service to our clients. The tried-and-true marketing approach will help as well.”

Fisher—who currently has nearly 50 employees—first considered franchise opportunities three years ago. When he was contacted by Spring-Green this year, he did his research and says he was so impressed by the business structure and the professional teams at the corporate support center, he decided to make the conversion.

Spring-Green is actively pursuing more businesses like Fisher’s with two franchise ownership options designed for green industry professionals. The Green Associate Assistance Program applies up to $10,000 of the initial franchise fee toward start-up expenses designated or approved by Spring-Green, which may include the initial marketing campaign fee. The program is for qualified candidates who currently own or are employed by green industry businesses such as landscape management professionals, landscape maintenance companies, landscape designers, irrigation/water management professionals and others.

The Green Associate Roll-In Program is designed for qualified candidates who own independent Green Industry businesses that already provide professional lawn and tree care services and want to convert that portion of their business to a Spring-Green franchise while keeping their existing company. These franchise owners will pay a reduced royalty rate for the first 12 months of operation and are also eligible for some of the benefits offered in the Green Associate Assistance Program.

“Kent’s design and maintenance company is exactly the type that will benefit from diversifying with our Green Industry Franchise Program,” says James Young, president of Spring-Green Lawn Care. “He already has a successful green industry business and has decades of experience in the industry. With the operational and marketing support Spring-Green provides, we have a strong air of confidence in Kent’s future success.”
