FD2B Talk Radio Insight of the Night: Plant material countdown

I don’t think that I have ever met anyone as knowledgeable or enthusiastic about plant material as Chris Rubino of Monrovia Growers. When it comes to selecting plants for an installation he recommends that all of your plants pass his “5-4-3-2-1” test if you want to create a better landscape.

5:  The number of senses that a plant should stimulate:

4: The number of seasons that a plant should show interest in.

3: The number of goals that plants need to achieve to provide value to the homeowners and their homes.

2: The number of people who need to feel comfortable with the plant selections.

1: The number of problems with a plant that’s one problem too many.

To gain even more insights into Chris’s “5-4-3-2-1” theory, along with some great websites to find truly unique plant material and some new and improved all-time favorites, listen to this week’s interview in its entirety by clicking here.
