Dave Maciulis is an upscale landscape designer and the publisher of Natural Landscapes, an outdoor design and lifestyle magazine, making him the perfect guest for a discussion on landscape trends.
Although we discussed many exciting industry trends, some of which could be considered “R” rated, there were two big insights from last night’s show. The first was our discussion of outdoor kitchen design and construction and the trend toward “professional grade” kitchens that now rival their indoor counterparts.
The second insight is Maciulis’ value proposition to his clients. He works in and around Dundas, Ontario, where the outdoor entertainment season can be extremely short. He capitalizes on this by tempting his clients with the opportunity to extend the season through a combination of exciting design work and creative business savvy.
I have to believe that increasing your client’s budget is one trend we all want to see continue. To gain even more insights, listen to the interview in its entirety by clicking here.
