The Davey Tree Expert Co. announced six promotions and appointments.
Denise Danois-Triche was promoted to regional recruiting manager, Midwest.
In her new role, Danois-Triche will provide recruiting leadership in the Great Lakes and Chicago regions. Danois-Triche started with Davey in 2017 as a client experience coordinator in the West Chicago Residential/Commercial (R/C) office. She transferred to the South Chicago R/C office that same year. In 2018, she was promoted to recruiting coordinator for the Chicago area. Danois-Triche was promoted again in 2019 to supervisor of the recruiting hub in Chicago.
Danois-Triche has experience in sales, marketing and management, with an educational background in interactive/multimedia design and marketing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Jim Zwack was promoted to vice president and general manager of the Davey Institute of Tree Sciences (D.I.T.S.), the Davey Co.’s research, development and innovation division.
In his new role, Zwack will be responsible for Davey’s team of scientists and researchers around North America, along with education, training, environmental programs and corporate responsibility. H will also oversee the D.I.T.S. technology development team which works in close partnership with the United States Forest Service.
With more than 20 years of experience in the green industry, Zwack started with Davey in 2010 as director of technical services after successfully helping to lead and grow a startup plant health care product sales company in Minneapolis. In 2017, he was promoted to general manager of the D.I.T.S.. Zwack holds a master’s degree in tree physiology from Iowa State University and a bachelor’s degree in urban forestry from the University of Minnesota. He has held numerous leadership positions in industry associations, is a former director for the Society of Commercial Arboriculture and is a trustee emeritus for the TREE Fund.
Heather Reitano was promoted to regional recruiting manager, east region.
Reitano will oversee recruiting operations for all residential and commercial services in the eastern U.S., as well as direct hiring for commercial landscape services in the mid-Atlantic region.
Reitano started with Davey in 2010 as a contract utility forester with Davey Resource Group (DRG). She was promoted to hiring coordinator for DRG and in 2018 joined the corporate recruiting department. She is a member of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), and is an ISA Certified Municipal Arborist as well as ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified. Reitano is a 2015 graduate of the D.I.T.S., which is Davey’s flagship training program in biological sciences, safety, tree and plant care and management techniques. She holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from The College of Charleston.
Leonardo Rivera-Barragan was promoted to district manager, Menlo Park, Calif., R/C office.
Rivera-Barragan started in the industry as a plant health care (PHC) technician with Safe & Beautiful, which became part of the Davey Co. through an acquisition. In 2009, he was promoted to PHC foreman in Davey’s Menlo Park R/C office.
Rivera-Barragan is an ISA Certified Arborist, an ISA Certified Tree Worker and a Tree Care Industry Association Certified Treecare Safety Professional. Also bilingual, Rivera-Barragan holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Guadalajara University.
Ken Busse was promoted to district manager of the Las Vegas R/C office.
Busse has more than 30 years of experience in the green industry. He joined Davey in 2013 as a plant healthcare technician and was promoted to sales arborist in 2016 and assistant district manager in 2018. He is an ISA Certified Arborist and is a TCIA Certified Treecare Safety Professional.
Anthony Williams was promoted to district manager, Kansas City, Kan., R/C office.
Williams started with Davey in 2004 as a trimmer trainee in the North Detroit R/C office. He was later promoted to plant health care technician in the North Detroit R/C office. Williams transferred to the Charlotte R/C office in 2008, and was most recently named a sales arborist in the East Cleveland R/C office in 2016.
An ISA Certified Arborist, Williams graduated in 2007 from the D.I.T.S. and attended Oakland Community College for agricultural science studies.
