Companies in the News: PBI-Gordon extends EOP for those affected by recent hurricanes; Oldcastle company gives back to community; Western Plows makes donation

PBI-Gordon Corp. is extending its October end-user early order program (EOP) deadline for customers in states in the South and Southeast affected by hurricanes Michael and Florence.

To give them more time to focus on recovery efforts, PBI-Gordon professional turfgrass management customers in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia and Virginia will have until Nov. 30 to take advantage of the maximum rebate allowed for their specific purchases.

“The hurricane season so far this year has been disruptive and damaging, and we realize how much stress it has placed on our distributor and end-user partners in the affected states,” said Doug Obermann, PBI-Gordon vice president of professional and agricultural sales. “It is our hope that, by extending the EOP pricing deadline, we can alleviate some of their concerns and worry.”

Superlite, an Oldcastle company, was recognized by the city of Chandler, Ariz., for its volunteer efforts and product donations to improve landscapes and outdoor spaces throughout the city. The company teamed up with Chandler-based contractors and businesses to revamp outdoor spaces in churches, community centers and even local homes to ensure that they are in line with city zoning ordinances. For one project, Belgard pavers replaced the original gravel path at the entrance of the local soup kitchen that feeds the homeless and less fortunate population of the city.

Oldcastle Superlite and all of its local business partners were recognized on Nov. 6 in a ceremony that took place at Chandler City Hall.

Western Plows donated a military-themed Wide-Out snow plow to be auctioned off by Camp Hometown Heroes, a free weeklong overnight summer camp for children and siblings, ages 7 to 17, of fallen U.S. service members.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the bidding will stay with Camp Hometown.
