Graham Spray Equipment received an Outstanding Georgia Business certificate from Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp. Kemp, along with members of the Georgia Agribusiness Council, presented the award during a tour of the custom spray-rig company’s facilities last month.
Heads Up Landscape Contractors will welcome nine college interns for 12 weeks this summer. The participating students are studying business, landscape design, landscape management, horticulture and other disciplines. The interns will receive hands-on job experience that could potentially lead to full-time employment with the company, according to Heads Up. The following students have been selected as interns:
- Ledonia Lucero—University of New Mexico;
- Adam Solares—University of New Mexico;
- Alejandro Valadez—University of New Mexico;
- Aidee Vega—University of New Mexico;
- Caleb Ward—University of New Mexico;
- Shay Williams—University of New Mexico;
- Briana Dominguez—New Mexico State University;
- Eric Elrod—New Mexico State University; and
- Macey Wollenberg—Oklahoma State University.
Kioto Tractor is celebrating 30 years in North America. The 69-year-old South Korean company introduced its first product to the U.S. in 1986. In 1993, it built a headquarters in North Carolina, where it remains, though it moved from Wilson to Wendell in 2004. “The 30th anniversary marks Kioti’s unparalleled commitment to the advancement and growth of tractor technology, value and service,” said Peter Dong Kyun Kim, president and CEO of Daedong-USA, Kioti Tractor Division. “We are proud of the legacy we’ve built and will continue to listen to our customers, innovate and respond with machines that deliver on the most important features to them.”
Stay Green held its eighth annual Employee Appreciation Picnic May 14 at Dr. Richard H. Rioux Memorial Park in Stevenson Ranch, Calif. Nearly 500 employees and their families came out for the event, which featured food, games and prizes. Highlights included a mariachi band, a taco bar and raffle prizes, including a 40-inch TV and a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball package. The company also uses the picnic to present milestone awards for employees who have been with the company for a significant number of years. Two employees, Juan Perez and Jose Pelayo Guzman, celebrated 35 years with the company and have worked with Stay Green founder Richard Angelo since the early days of operation.
