Breckenridge Landscaping–a landscaping design, construction and maintenance company in New Berlin, Wis.–has acquired Prairie Tree Landscaping, a residential and commercial landscaping company located in Elkhorn, Wis.
Prairie Tree was established in 1984 and expanded to include a Garden Center and trucking, excavation and concrete services. It will remain at its current location although Breckenridge said it would not open the Garden Center this season. Prairie Tree will offer bulk hard goods for retail and wholesale purchase, however.
Breckenridge President Eric K. Weishaar will become president of Prairie Tree and run both companies separately. The previous owner will stay on as a consultant and liaison to the community and help maintain client relationships. The landscaping crews and office staff will remain in place although Breckenridge said it would add office management staff.
Breckenridge said it plans to further expand and is seeking other firms to acquire.
