Local companies and suppliers set up tables around the grounds of the Ridgewood Village Hall Community Center, where various educational programs were held throughout the day.
The Borst display drew a steady stream of visitors, all interested in their bio-friendly approaches to landscape design and care. In support of Earth Day and environmental responsibility, Borst offered the public gardening tips, including what products to use that are environmentally friendly. Known for its long-time advocacy of an organic, sustainable approach to landscaping, Borst launched its own Borst Organic line of lawn, tree and shrub care in 2007.
Landscape designers from Borst spoke with the public and displayed photos of various completed works from throughout New Jersey. In addition, the first 100 people stopping at the Borst table got bare-root redbud trees, which can with planting and care instructions from the Bosrst staff.
Pictured at the event are Borst employees: (L-R) Bob Malgieri, tree care specialist; Terry McMahon, BSLA, landscape designer; and Michael Cioffi, sales and services manager.
