BioWorks adds sales manager as it enters turf market

On its brink of entering the turf market, BioWorks welcomed Glenn Morrell to its turf and ornamental division as a technical sales manager.

Joe Gionta, director of sales and marketing, said Morrell’s 30 years of industry experience should benefit BioWorks’s plans to join the turf market with primarily biological and organic products. Those products for turfgrass care, which include fertilizers, fungicides and insecticides, will be available Jan. 1.

“There is an increasing public concern over the use of pesticides and fertilizers in urban areas,” Gionta said. “Biological control has become a desirable and effective alternative treatment to keeping grasses and landscapes healthy and strong. We’re glad to have Glenn’s professional experience as we introduce our product line to this industry.”

Morrell will provide technical sales and support for the United States turf market, including private and public golf courses, commercial and institutional grounds and sports fields.
