The F.A. Bartlett Tree Expert Co. promoted several employees into new leadership positions.
Matthew Farin was appointed to vice president of contracts administration and assistant secretary. In this new role, Farin will be involved in the bidding and contract process, support for more than 250 sales representatives and corporate financial analysis. Farin joined Bartlett more than 20 years ago after his college graduation from the University of Connecticut, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in economics.
Patrick Brewer was named vice president and division manager. Formerly serving as district manager, Brewer oversaw Bartlett’s operations in the southwestern U.S. for nine years, during which time the operation expanded to eight locations. Brewer has been with the company for more than 20 years.
Promoted to assistant vice president of commercial accounts, Gregory Carbone will head the company’s efforts to develop and serve a growing commercial client base. Carbone has been an arborist representative since 1998. He is an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certified arborist and holds a B.S. in landscape architecture from the University of Rhode Island.
On the heels of leading Bartlett’s Gaithersburg, Md., location as a local manager, Kevin Carr was promoted to district manager for the Northwest, a new territory for the company after the acquisition of Collier Arbor Care in Portland, Ore. Carr is an ISA board certified master arborist, certified tree safety professional and certified tree risk assessor.
Patrick Franklin, great grandson of company founder F.A. Bartlett,was named special assistant to the president. He will serve as the company historian and is responsible for the implementation of special projects including the Seedling Initiative in which each company arborist representative distributes 100 seedlings annually. To date, more than 20,000 seedlings have been distributed. Franklin, an ISA certified arborist, started with the company in 2004 as a PHC specialist and had served as a climber, foreman and arborist representative before returning to school to obtain his MBA.
