Milwaukee Tool will expand its footprint in the U.S. with a new vertically integrated manufacturing plant in West Bend, Wis.
Located 20 minutes from Milwaukee Tool’s global headquarters, the facility will manufacture new-to-market hand tools for professional electricians and utility linemen.
“As we continue with that strategy, we are thrilled to invest in state-of-the-art technology and equipment and a skilled labor force, right in the heart of Wisconsin to deliver the next wave of hand tool innovation to the industry,” said Tim Albrecht, president of hand tools for Milwaukee Tool.
With an initial expected investment of almost $26 million, Milwaukee Tool will break ground in April 2020 on the new manufacturing plant and expects mass production to begin in early 2021.
“We will continue to invest, we will continue to grow and we will continue to change the game,” said Steve Richman, Group President of Milwaukee Tool. “In 2020 alone, we will invest over $100 million, and create 350 jobs in the U.S. to diversify our operations and better serve the professional trades.”
Honda Power Equipment, a business unit of American Honda Motor Co. and manufacturer and marketer of a complete range of outdoor power equipment products, has joined an alliance with Lowe’s.
Honda will supply Lowe’s with a range of its outdoor power products including walk-behind lawn mowers, generators, snow blowers, tillers, pumps and string trimmers for residential and commercial applications. Honda products are available now on Lowe’s website and are being rolled out to Lowe’s retail locations nationwide during the next few weeks, broadening the access for the retailer’s customers to top-rated outdoor power equipment.

Polaris signed a dealer agreement with distribution and service partner Eastern Lift Truck Co. to represent Polaris’ full line of commercial vehicles, which includes the Pro XD all-terrain utility task vehicles (UTVs), GEM street-legal, all-electric, low-speed vehicles (LSVs) and Taylor-Dunn material handling utility vehicles, stock chasers, tow tractors and personnel carriers.
While Eastern Lift Truck Co. has been a Taylor-Dunn distributor for many years, the new agreement expands the dealer’s territory from approximately 60 to 100 counties in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Eastern Lift Truck Co. is also starting up a new “Commercial Vehicle Division” to grow in these expanded territories with the new product portfolio. The new division will be headed by Joe Cruz, director.
