Case Construction Equipment has named Michel Marchand as vice president for North America, replacing Scott Harris who has taken a similar role at Case IH, which focuses on farm equipment. Marchand, who previously served as the regional sales director for Canada, will now oversee all Case Construction operations in North America.
“The Case Construction brand is strong throughout North America, and we have a real opportunity now, with the advances made across the breadth of our product lines and the development of our dealer network, to make an even greater impact for our customers and compete in new ways across all markets,” said Marchand. “I am very proud to be a part of the future here at Case.”
Marchand left the automotive industry and first joined Case as a business manager in 2009 and then took on the role of regional sales director in 2011.
Environmental Science, a business unit of the Crop Science division of Bayer, appointed Tony Culberson to area sales manager for the Bayer Turf & Ornamentals segment. In this role, Culberson will manage relationships with customers and distributors in the golf course management and lawn and landscape markets throughout Alabama, Mississippi and the Florida panhandle.
“Tony brings a strong foundation of industry experience,” said Mike Ruizzo, warm-season regional sales manager for Bayer. “Having served as a distributor sales representative in the warm-season states for many years, he not only understands the unique agronomic challenges and opportunities inherent in the region but also has a depth of knowledge of the solutions needed for best-in-class warm-season turf management.”
Culberson has held different positions within the lawn and landscape and golf course industries during the past decade. Most recently, he served as a territory sales representative for AGRI-AFC in Birmingham, Ala. He is also a member of the Alabama Turfgrass Association and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.
Culberson holds a bachelor’s degree in horticulture from Auburn University.
Arborjet added Kevin Lewis as its new technical manager for turf and ornamental, golf and specialty markets.
Lewis’ appointment stems from Arborjet’s new partnership with Ecologel, a developer and manufacturer of products for water conservation, dust mitigation, plant nutrition, pond and lake management and antifungal coatings. Lewis previously served as Ecologel’s Midwest technical sales manager, where he focused on business development, technical support and product sales.
In his new role, Lewis will be responsible for supporting Arborjet and Ecologel products in the turf, ornamental and golf markets; developing new business around the country; and providing technical knowledge to land care operation, landscape and all other sectors of the green industry.
Before joining Arborjet and Ecologel, Lewis worked as an agronomic technical specialist with John Deere Landscapes. Prior to that, Lewis had more than 20 years of experience in the golf industry as a superintendent for both private and public golf courses, managing all aspects of course maintenance, staff maintenance and pesticide applications. Lewis is licensed as a commercial applicator in Ohio for turf, general weed control and aquatics, and earned an applied sciences degree from Ohio State University in turfgrass management.
The Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA), the national trade association for commercial and utility tree care companies, has sworn in Andrew W. Felix as chair of the TCIA board of directors. Felix is the founder and president of Tree Tech, a TCIA-accredited member company located in Foxboro, Mass.
Felix is no stranger to the industry. His late father, Robert Felix, ran his own tree care business on Long Island, N.Y., before leaving it behind to take over management of TCIA (then the National Arborist Association), which he led for more than two decades.
“Andy is an engaged member of the tree care industry, and TCIA is thrilled that he will spend the next year focusing on workforce development, technology and membership growth,” said Mark Garvin, president and CEO of TCIA. “However, Andy is also tasked with overseeing a smooth transition for our new, incoming CEO. Considering Andy’s long history with TCIA, we can’t think of anyone better to oversee this transition.”
A graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Felix worked for Bartlett Tree Experts before establishing Tree Tech in 1986. In addition to his involvement with TCIA as a member of its Accreditation Council and Z133 Standards Committee, Felix is a past president of the Massachusetts Arborists Association, New England Grows and the Foxboro Lacrosse Association, and a past director of the Massachusetts Tree Wardens and Foresters Association.
TCIA’s Board is elected by the members to set policy and the strategic direction of the association, which provides safety and educational programs, meetings, publications and guidelines for tree care companies.
Felix’s term as chair on the TCIA board of directors began in February, when he was sworn in at TCIA’s annual Winter Management Conference.
