Evatech released its new Trex Remote Control Lawn Mower (RCLM), featuring collision avoidance technology.

The collision avoidance system option was designed for a customer with hazardous storage containers in the work area. This sonar-based system shuts down the mower if it comes within 10 feet of an obstacle. The shut-off point can be set at a shorter distance if critical protection is not required. The Trex also can be fitted with soft bumpers for additional protection.

With a 20-hp remote-start Kawasaki engine and dual cutting blades, the Trex 44 can cut through high, wet grass on slopes up to 50 degrees. The dual-hybrid (electric) drive system allows for zero-turn radius while cutting either forward or in reverse. The Trex can operate in soft or muddy terrain because the track ground pressure is 1.16 pounds per square inch.

The Trex has full remote control for start, stop and motion control, and blade deployment using an Ogura electric clutch. The operating range is up to 2,000 feet from the controller, which has a battery life of up to 20 hours.
