Texas A&M researching gray water and landscapes

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS—Experts in the Texas A&M University System are investigating whether use of gray (“soapy”) water for landscape irrigation can offset restriction concerns.

“Implementing the use of gray water for landscape irrigation across the state could mean a tremendous water savings in terms of acre-feet of water, contributing to the water use and conservation goals of the recently released 2012 Water Plan,” Dr. Raul Cabrera, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and Research Center in Uvalde, says in a Texas A&M AgriLife article.
