Web Extra: How to get WaterSense Certified

|

The EPA’s WaterSense program has placed the topic of water conservation on the forefront for 10 years and counting. In this LM Web Extra, learn how you can get WaterSense-certified.

Contractors can become WaterSense certified by completing program requirements through several regional and national professional certifying organizations. For example, irrigation contractors, landscape/turf irrigation designers, and golf and landscape irrigation auditors certified through the Irrigation Association automatically qualify for the WaterSense program.

As part of the WaterSense program, certified professionals are able to utilize the Environmental Protection Agency’s consumer awareness campaign, use the WaterSense logo on business cards, brochures and marketing materials, appear in the EPA’s online directory of irrigation professionals, and access free promotional materials and tools developed by the EPA. Per the Irrigation Association, contractors are required to stay in good standing by submitting 20 continuing education units per two-year cycle.
