The Intimidator Group, headquartered in Batesville, Ark., launched Spartan Mowers at GIE+EXPO in Louisville, Ky., earlier this month. The company also upgraded its Intimidator UTV engine options.
“I have always loved mowers,” said Rob Foster, owner of the Intimidator Group. “They are a passion of mine. The Spartan is truly a culmination of many years’ experience, many lessons learned and countless hours of work and engineering. We literally built this mower from the ground up.”
There are five mowers in the series, starting at $4,995: RT PRO, RT HD, SRT PRO, SRT HD and SRT XD.
The Spartan features Smart Ride Technology with middle and rear Elastomer TecsPak and front neoprene cushioning to absorb any shock or jostling, the company said. Other features include the soft-ride, steel-belted radial tires and an LCD control panel and warning indicators.
“The inspiration for the design of the mower came from the muscle car era of the 60s and 70s,” Foster said.
The Spartan also features a shock-assisted lift deck and certain models with an electric actuator. The low center of gravity and angled front forks allow for a close cut through the straights and turns, the company said. The Spartan frame is built with the same frame as Intimidator UTVs.
“The mission behind this mower was to change the turf industry by raising the bar on simplicity and fuctionality in a top of the line mower,” he said. “We believe the Spartan is the best possible mower on the market.”
The company also unveiled its Intimidator 800 cc EFI gas engine for its Intimidator UTV. The all-new 800 offers 65 hp and will go up to 60 mph.
Hitting the market in December, the new engine will be available on the Classic and Crew Intimidator models, with both the XD4 and Base packages available.
