Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer was in attendance when more than 50 landscapers enhanced green spaces in Louisville, Ky., Wednesday. They were there as part of the second annual PLANET Gives Back charity event.
In town for the Green Industry Conference, the volunteers installed an outdoor learning area at Engelhard Elementary School and performed general landscaping on the school grounds.
Bridgehaven Mental Services, where they did paver installation, created an outdoor barbecue and picnic area and performed general maintenance on the property.
At last year’s inaugural event, volunteers worked at four sites, including Bridgehaven and a women’s shelter. The program is PLANET’s way of giving back to the city of Louisville, which has long hosted the Green industry Conference.
