Heads Up Landscape Contractors held its seventh annual Equipment Rodeo on March 13 at the company’s headquarters in Albuquerque, N.M.
Around 200 Heads Up staff spent the day learning to stretch properly to prepare for work and how to safely use various equipment required in their jobs, including edgers, lawnmowers, trucks and trailers. The event comprised 24 stations set up around the headquarters.
“This yearly event is both fun and a learning opportunity,” said Eddie Padilla, vice president/director of sales and marketing. “The construction and maintenance staff cross-trained on all the equipment, making it easier for everyone to pitch in when others are unavailable. Plus we focus on safe operation of all equipment and stretching to reduce injuries. Because of our focus on safety, we’ve reduced on the job injuries.”
