In this episode, Peter MacDonagh of Kestrel Design Group discusses low impact development (LID). MacDonagh talks about what low impact development is and why and who should be concerned about it, in addition to providing some examples. He also explains how plants and soil clean water and what kinds of water pollution LID handles.
MacDonagh is a fellow ASLA, PLA, LEED AP, and RHS specializing in state-of-the-art ecological restoration, urban forestry, storm water planning and green roof technologies. MacDonagh currently serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Minnesota College of Design.
