The Davey Tree Expert Co., based in Kent, Ohio, acquired Lawn Logic Landscaping in Davie, Fla. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. 
The acquisition increases its presence in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Pat Covey, chief operating officer for U.S. operations, said Davey is committed to future growth—organically and through acquisitions.
“We will continue to focus on high-quality companies with customer demographics that are similar to our own, within markets where we want to grow,” he said. “Our goal is always to choose talented, safety-conscious employees intent on providing high-level customer service,” said Covey.
This move brings the company’s total number of acquisitions this year to five, following Maier Forest and Tree in Rochester, Minn.; Superior NW Tree & Shrub Care in Seattle; Cortese Tree Specialists in Knoxville, Tenn.; and Wetland Studies and Solutions in Gainesville, Va.
Lawn Logic has offered many aspects of commercial landscape care to the Southeast Florida area for more than 10 years, including landscape maintenance, tree maintenance, fertilization and irrigation. Covey stressed many things would remain the same for Lawn Logic’s clients. “Additionally, Lawn Logic employees will now have access to the Davey Institute, an industry-leading diagnostic and research facility to assist us with our landscaping needs,” Covey said.
