DALLAS—Weathermatic has sold Salco Products to its longtime trading partner, NYX Industries, a subsidiary of Soporte General, with companies in a variety of water industries. Salco is a 45-year-old manufacturer of low-volume products for residential, commercial and municipal installations.

“This transaction is a true win-win for both organizations,” says Weathermatic CEO Mike Mason. “NYX Industries is acquiring an established brand and gaining access to extensive distribution where they will leverage their core strengths in extrusion manufacturing.  Weathermatic will use the proceeds from the sale to accelerate development of our revolutionary water conservation technologies that are already being used by the industry leading landscape maintenance contractors, as well as sustainability driven Fortune 500 organizations.”
“We envision significant opportunities to expand Salco’s presence in the rapidly growing low-volume irrigation/water conservation markets with a strategic focus on these markets and significant investments in the infrastructure of Salco,” says Gabriel Martinez, CEO of NYX. “Our integration plan for Salco is structured such that this transition from Weathermatic to NYX will appear seamless to all Salco customers. We are committed to perpetuating the legacy of the Salco business.”
Salco was founded in 1967 by Sam Tobey, a pioneer in low-volume irrigation technology. He introduced low-volume irrigation to public areas, particularly along interstate highway systems across the country.
