iQ Power Tools is publishing an article series describing the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) permissible exposure limit (PEL) for silica in simple terms.
The series comes on the heels of OSHA’s proposed rule to effectively cut OSHA’s PEL for silica in half.
Having studied silica for more than 10 years, iQ Power Tools is publishing its series to help contractors and other stakeholders understand the OSHA PEL in easy-to-understand, practical terms. For example, it breaks down that OSHA PEL is expressed in micrograms per cubic meter (μg/m3), a measurement unfamiliar to many stakeholders.
The series is viewable on iQ Power Tools’ blog and includes posts titled “Silica Part I: What Contractors Should Know About the OSHA PEL,” “Silica Part II: The OSHA PEL in Simple Terms” and “Silica Part III: How Much Dust is Too Much?”
