The new 810cc Vanguard engines, available in 24 or 26 gross hp (per SAE J1940 at 3,600 rpm, as rated by Briggs & Stratton), are designed to maximize productivity by delivering the optimum power, performance and efficiency commercial zero-turn mowers need. Key features include a debris chopper fan that provides cooler engine temperatures, by as much as 30°. Cylinder access panels offer a quick visual check for debris removal. The high-flow blower housing and static guard have more than 30 percent larger intake surface area than the next-closest competitor, according to the company. The 2014-compliant static guard conforms to new ANSI B71.4 safety regulations and ensures proper cooling.
The remote cyclonic air cleaner provides longer life in dusty conditions, while gaseous engine valve seats and high-temp valves withstand all-day cutting head temperatures. The automotive S2N material pistons feature an advanced pin-design and plasma-coated top compression ring for durability and oil control. The forged connecting rods feature a large bearing surface and BIG BLOCK aluminum casting process for added density and strength.
