KENT, OH — The Davey Tree Expert Co. has been ranked the fourth-largest 100% employee-owned company in the U.S., according to theNational Center for Employee Ownership.
The rankings are based on total number of employees, and Davey’s 7,400 employees throughout North America placed it high on the list.

The list includes the nation’s largest companies that are at least 50% owned by an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) or other broad-based employee-ownership plan. Davey ranks 18th among all companies with at least 50% employee ownership.
Companies on the list employ 687,000 people worldwide, up from 614,000 last year. The largest company on the list employs 152,000 workers, while the smallest employs 1,100.
