Horizon Distributors, a full-service wholesale distributor of irrigation and landscape maintenance products, expanded its Horizon Technical Services team into Northern California.
A team of three technicians have completed extensive training on a range of sensor-based control systems as well as on-site project management and will be servicing the Bay Area, Sacramento Valley and Central Valley. This team of trained, on-site experts will focus on innovative professional central control solutions for the irrigation designer, installation contractor and the end user, according to the company.
“After several decades of success in the Southwest, we are expanding our Horizon Technical Services offering first to California and then to the rest of our network,” explains Phil Stephens, vice president of Horizon. “While we have served other markets over the years, we haven’t had dedicated technician support in the field, so we are taking the expertise we have honed in Arizona and disseminating it across our footprint.”
Leading the expansion is Pat Johnston, irrigation product manager for Horizon and longtime leader for Horizon Technical Services (HTS). Johnston was instrumental in developing Horizon’s Rain Safe Enclosure Assembly and its Solar Solution, according to the company.
“Our focus isn’t just water management, it’s resource management — water, energy and labor. Our goal is to offer sustainable solutions grounded in fiscal reality,” said Johnston.
The Horizon Technical Services team of experts use booster pumps, solar methods, fertilizer injectors, two-wire controllers and central control systems to provide conservation solutions. In addition, they offer specialized programs such as surge protection testing and certification, weather station maintenance and central irrigation control computer maintenance to ensure consistent operation.
