New swing joints for Mirage long-throw sports field sprinklers

and |

LAKE FOREST, CA — Underhill International offers a new series of swing joints for Mirage long-throw sports field sprinklers. Available in ductile iron and PVC, the swing joints are specifically engineered for the Mirage M-115, M-125 and M-160.

Swing joints are typically used in new installations and retrofits to set sprinklers to the proper height and position.

Underhill’s ductile iron swing joints are impact- and corrosion-resistant and are recommended for installations exceeding 100 psi. They provide surge protection and are available in two sizes: 1.5-in. female gasketed bell joint x 1.5-in. thread (for M-115 and M-125 sprinklers) and 3-in. female gasketed bell joint x 2.5-in. thread (for the M-160).

Schedule 40 and 80 PVC swing joints are designed for lower pressure installations. Schedule 40 PVC is available (for M-115 and M-125) with 1.5” male thread x 1.5” male thread. Schedule 80 PVC (for M-160) has a 3” female slip x 2.5” thread. All rotating joints have ACME thread types with smooth O-ring grooves for positive sealing and thread protection.

Mirage sprinklers are installed on football, baseball and soccer fields with either natural or synthetic turf. The M-115 has a 115-ft. radius; the M-125 has a 125-ft. radius; and the M-160 has a 164-ft. radius.

Swing joints are often used to raise sprinklers that have been buried under tall turf or to correct finish grade when a riser is not long enough.
