Everything is slower in the South? Nope.

There are a lot of myths about the American South. One in particular – that everything moves slower – is easy to bust. In the South, weeds move fast. It’s also a myth that only one broadleaf herbicide is effective in southern turfgrasses. Fact: Avenue™ South Broadleaf Herbicide for Turfgrass from PBI-Gordon is formulated specifically to deliver rapid control of broadleaf weeds in the sensitive southern grasses and warm weather of the South.

Avenue South is a proprietary formulation of four proven active ingredients – 2,4-D, dicamba, penoxsulam, and sulfentrazone – that is readily absorbed by roots, shoots and foliage. It translocates throughout the plant, resulting in fast visual response: leaf and stem curl is typically visible within a few days of application. In 14-28 days, the weed is dead.

Avenue South quickly controls more than 90+ broadleaf weeds including clover, dollarweed, doveweed, Virginia buttonweed, and chamberbitter. It even suppresses yellow nutsedge.

“Turf professionals have unique needs in the South,” says Jay Young, herbicide product manager for PBI-Gordon. “Avenue South is engineered for those needs, delivering fast visual response on broadleaf weeds and an exceptional degree of turf safety.”

Avenue South is labeled for use on sensitive southern turfgrass species, including improved St. Augustinegrasses, hybrid bermudagrass, annual and Kentucky bluegrass, and centipedegrass. And there are no ambient temperature restrictions on the application timing of Avenue South Broadleaf Herbicide.

So don’t believe the myth.
