2012 PLANET Career Days scheduled for March

and |

Three-day event allows students to compete in landscape tasks and participate in a career fair.

The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) is gearing up for its 36th annual Student Career Days (SCD) to be held March 22–25, 2012, at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS.

SCD is a three-day event for students enrolled in interior and exterior horticulture programs at two- and four-year colleges and universities from across the country. Each year, close to 900 green industry students from some 62 schools demonstrate their skills in real-world, competitive events and have the opportunity to participate in a Career Fair.

Students aren’t the only ones who get to showcase their skills at SCD. There are a number of opportunities for companies to showcase their employment and/or internship opportunities. Each booth at the Career Fair includes an area where companies can conduct on-site interviews.

The host hotel for the 2012 SCD will be the Holiday Inn at the Campus, Manhattan, KS. The opening and closing ceremonies, Career Fair, and competitive events will all be held on the Kansas State University campus.

The early-bird deadline for registration is Feb. 16, 2012. For more details about PLANET’s 2012 SCD, visitStudentCareerDays.org.
